Editing your listing's description or title

This article covers how to update the description or headline on a Trade Me Property listing, and the formatting rules that apply.
Where to make the edit
If your listing is live: Edit it directly on Trade Me, or through your office's CRM — whichever your agency normally uses to publish.
Important: If your agency uses a CRM, any edit made directly on Trade Me (including one made by our support team on your behalf) will be overwritten the next time your CRM syncs. If you use a CRM, make the edit there.
If your listing is still a draft:
Created directly on Trade Me → log in to your Trade Me account to edit it. Draft listings can only be accessed through the site.
Created in your office's CRM → Trade Me has no access to it. It must be edited through your CRM.
Formatting rules
Field | Limit |
Description | 5,200 characters maximum (each line break counts as 2 characters)—plain text only — no rich formatting. |
Title/heading | 50 characters maximum |
Once your update meets both rules, it should flow through normally.
Troubleshooting
If your edit still isn't showing after meeting the rules above, there may be another detail on the listing causing the block. Double-check the rest of the listing for anything unusual, then try again.
