What is the Watchlist Notification Suite?
The Watchlist Notification Suite is designed to strengthen your connections with potential buyers who have engaged with your listing.
Thousands of emails and push notifications are sent to Trade Me members every day, alerting them to changes happening on listings they have watchlisted or engaged with.
When you make a change to your listing, we’ll automatically send an email or push notification to a qualified audience to notify them about the change, if the change has met the requirements listed for each alert (listed below).
Will all watchlisters get an email or push notification?
To protect members from receiving too many notifications and ensure that when we send a notification on your behalf, it gets as much engagement as possible, there are additional rules in place that may prevent a notification from being triggered for some members. We currently limit the number of notifications a Trade Me Member can receive from Trade Me Property to 2 push notifications per day. There is no daily limit for emails.
Please note that members manage their notification preferences and can opt-out of receiving these notifications if they wish. Please refer to the specific notification type you’re interested in to understand our frequency controls.

What are price drop notifications?
When the price of a property is reduced by a certain amount, we'll send eligible Trade Me Members who have watchlisted the property a notification (either via email or push notification) to let them know.
What triggers a price drop notification?
When the price of the property has decreased by at least $5,000, but not decreased by more than 20% of the total value of the property.
Example: For a $1,000,000 listing, dropping the price to $850,000 would trigger the notification - the price has dropped by $150,000 (meeting the $5,000 difference requirement) but only by 15% of its original value (within the 20% maximum decrease limit).
Who receives the notification?
Members who have the property on their watchlist, and;
Members who viewed the listing ≥ 3 times in the last 30 days.
Exceptions:
Each member is only eligible to receive one Price Drop email or notification every 48 minutes. So, if a member who has watchlisted your property has received a price drop notification for a different property within the last 48 minutes, they will not receive a notification of a price drop on your property if one occurs within this time.
