How to Apply for a Trade Me Property Account

Trade Me Property is New Zealand’s go-to platform. You will need a Trade Me Property Account to get in front of New Zealand buyers. As a Property Agency, you can unlock features like instant property alerts, custom watchlists, and property insights; you need a verified account.

Before You Sign Up: The Prerequisites

To successfully create an account on Trade Me, you must meet a few basic requirements:

• A New Zealand Business Number (NZBN), or a Sole Trader Number and

• Be able to provide a physical address for the business; and;

• Meet the prerequisites of the category that you are applying for below.

Residential for Sale: To list in Residential for Sale, you will need a current REA License.

New Homes: You must have a yearly projected volume of 10+ listings.

Commercial for Sale: You will need a current REA License.

Commercial for Lease: You will need a current REA License. Unless the business owns the properties being leased, then only an NZBN is required.

Residential for Rent: You will need to have listed 5 listings privately in the last 3 months.

Business for Sale: You will need to have listed 10 listings privately in the last 12 months.
